How to make a barcode label for inventory

How to name and label warehouse locations
Label locations from the largest unit to the smallest — zone, aisle, bay, level, bin
(for example B-04-03-2).
Pad single digits with a leading zero (01, 02) so software sorts them correctly, keep codes short
with no special characters, and number aisles in a serpentine path so pickers weave through the
warehouse in one continuous flow. Print a location label for each spot, apply it at a consistent
height, and test it with a scan before you label the whole row.

What barcode type should I use for inventory labels?
For most part and bin labels use a QR code — it scans from any angle and stays readable at small sizes. Use Code 128 when a device or partner needs a 1D barcode; it packs long SKUs into a small, self-checking symbol. UPC-A is only for retail products that already carry a 12-digit UPC.
What size label do I need?
A 2" x 1" label is the default for individual part and bin labels — big enough for a scannable code and a short SKU. Use 3" x 1" for wide shelf edges, 4" x 2" for pallets and large bins, and 1" x 0.5" for small parts.
How do I print barcode labels without special software?
